North Myrtle Beach:

Alabama Theatre

Home to One, the critically-acclaimed variety show featuring world-class singing and high-energy dancing to country music, rock ‘n roll, Broadway hits and gospel favorites, the plush, 2,000-seat Alabama Theatre is also the setting for some of the best concerts and live acts in town.

The entertainment legends that have performed here include George Jones, Bill Cosby, Charlie Pride, Lorrie Morgan, Ricky Van Shelton, Billy Ray Cyrus, the Oak Ridge Boys and of course, Alabama. This year’s Celebrity Concert Series calendar is full of the most celebrated performers, including hilarious comedians and star-studded country music stars your whole family will recognize.

The theatre’s namesake, Alabama, lived in Myrtle Beach in the 1970s, and in 1991, the country music trio returned to the Grand Strand, where they envisioned adding their own theatre to the live entertainment scene already established. In collaboration with Gaylord Entertainment, then owner of the Grand Ol’ Opry, TNN, Country Music Television and more, they wrote, directed and produced an elaborate production to be presented nightly by a talented cast of performers in a new state-of-the-art theatre.
