South Carolina’s Grand Strand stretches 60 miles from Little River to Georgetown and is one of the most popular tourist destinations. The Grand Strand has become a major tourist attraction along the Southeastern coast, with its primary city, Myrtle Beach, attracting over ten million visitors each season. It is home to numerous restaurants and theme parks, making it popular among college students on spring break, families all summer long and snowbirds in the winter.
North Myrtle Beach formed in 1968 from the merger of several beach communities consisting of Cherry Grove Beach, Tilghman Beach, Ocean Drive Beach, and Crescent Beach & Windy Hill.
The main vacation areas along the Grand Strand are:
Little River is a quaint fishing village and considered the oldest towns along the Grand Strand. Located along the Intracoastal Waterway it is best known for deep-sea fishing, charter boats & commercial fishing. There are many places to dine, shop and Las-Vegas style casino gambling boats. Little River is also home to the Blue Crab Festival held every May on the waterfront.
Cherry Grove Beach
is at the very northern end of North Myrtle Beach. Cherry Grove is your place to relax. It’s known for its clean and quiet beach. It is slightly smaller and more family-oriented than Myrtle Beach. It still has tons of attractions including shopping, dining, golf, boating, fishing and great places to stay. Cherry Grove has great fishing and is home to the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier. Many of our vacation rentals in Cherry Grove sit on the beautiful Channels running through Cherry Grove or oceanfront. You get the scenic views of the salt marshes, wildlife and the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.
Tilghman Beach
in North Myrtle Beach is located just south of Cherry Grove Beach and features many of our upscale oceanfront homes. Enjoy the wide white sandy beach or hope over to the Surf Club Golf Course. Tilghman Beach is one area you will love to vacation with your family.
Ocean Drive Beach
in North Myrtle Beach is the birthplace of the Shag, the official South Carolina State Dance. The Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach is the host of two, weeklong festivals of shaggers in April and September of every year. Sponsored by the Society of Stranders (SOS), the events bring thousands of devotees of this unique dance to North Myrtle Beach’s Main Street to shag, party and visit with old friends. Ocean Drive is filled with unique shops, restaurants and of course Shag Clubs.
Crescent Beach
is in the middle of North Myrtle Beach and features gorgeous upscale hi-rise condos, including Baywatch Resort, and many fabulous second and third row beach homes for your entire family.
Windy Hill
